Takulandilani! Upon arrival and welcome to the warm heart of Africa, you shall be transferred to Majete Game Reserve where we shall stay for two nights camping at Ng’ona Lodge. The lodge is situated just outside the Majete Game Reserve within proximity distance. It overlooks the mighty Shire River and you will spend your first 2 nights in Malawi here. Accommodation here is comfortable and spacious with a huge outside swimming pool. Majete Game Reserve is nestled in the south-western part of Malawi. It is a unique conservation and tourist destination for all visitors. While visiting Majete chances are you will see Africa’s Big Five: Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo, Black Rhino and Lion. Other wildlife on the park include giraffe, zebra and many more. Enjoy unique day and night game drives, bush walks, boat trips and hill walks spiced with birding.
Day 3 – 5: Chawani Bungalow –Satemwa Tea Estates
You shall get transferred to Thyolo – Satemwa Tea Estate where we also shall spend two nights. Thyolo as a district is very distinct to the rest due to its overgrowing of tea. The tea plantations give it its uniqueness as it remains green all year round.
The afternoon of the fourth day shall see us visit the nearby Satemwa Tea Estate where we shall visit the Huntington House for tea tasting.
Day 5 – 6: Mulanje Mountain- Kara O Mula
On this day we set off from the tea plantations to the highest peak of Malawi the Mulanje Mountain. You shall spend your 1 night at Kara O’ Mula Country Lodge. On the second day you shall hike to the Likhubula falls and pools in the morning hours before later being transfer to the colonial city for lunch on the Zomba plateau.
Day 6 -7: Zomba Plateau – Zomba Forest Lodge
After enjoying our breakfast we leave for the old capital of Malawi, another remarkably historical feature of the country. The Plateau also called the Zomba Massif is a mountain of the Shire Highlands in Southern Malawi with its highest peak rocking 2,087 m above sea level. The plateau offers pleasant variety of walks though forests and breathtaking views. While enjoying the hiking, horse riding, rock climbing and mountain biking you shall be accommodated at Zomba Forest Lodge for 2 nights.
The lodge is as cozy and intimate guest house nestled in 20 acres of mixed woodland. Completely off-grid and with no electricity. It is an ideal place to hide away, to take it slow, to sit back and relax, away from the daily pressures of ‘real life’! Guests here are treated as friends and the forest retreat is accompanied with best home cooked food.
Day 7 – 10: Liwonde National Park – Mvuu Camp
The morning of the 7th day shall see us we leave the colonial city and head straight to Liwonde National where we shall spend 3 nights at Mvuu Camp. The park lies on the banks of The Shire River – which is the 3rd largest in Africa. Shire River boasts of countless hippos and crocodiles The Park is full of life and activities which include Game drives and Waters safaris, birding and local community cultural activities in the nearby villages.




Day 10 – 12: Lake Malawi National Park/ Cape Maclear – Domwe Island
On this day you will set off in the morning after breakfast for a road and boat transfer respectively at Lake Malawi’s longest beach of Cape Maclear. Arriving at Kayak Africa you can either Kayak out or have a boat transfer to the stunning Domwe Island.
Domwe Island is a deserted tropical island on the expansive waters of the Lake Malawi. With amazing underwater boulders, around 800 species of colorful cichlid fishes, placid, and clear water. The National Park offers what many consider the best freshwater snorkeling and SCUBA diving in the world.
Boat transfer to Domwe Island is 45min long trip from the main land.




Day 12: Departure for Blantyre
We transfer this morning by boat to the main shore. Our guide will drive us to Blantyre after saying goodbye to the fresh water banks. We drive straight to Blantyre CBD for purchase of souvenirs for those interested, rest at Casa Mia ready for the next day’s flight back home.



Day 13
Nothing really good lasts forever! We end our tour today with a transfer to the airport. Zikomo!
