About us

We are probably Malawi’s leading eco-travel company and organize Safari, Hiking and Cycling tours for individuals, couples, families and groups around Malawi and some parts of Zambia.

Comprised of two platforms: Adventure Tours is responsible for organizing trips and tours and Bike Life rents out bicycles. Established in 2006 we have grown from a bike rental company to a full-time tour operator with the simple aim of giving our clients the most memorable life experiences.

Malawi popularly known as the “warm-heart of Africa” has a series of mountains and plateaus, wild life and game reserves, lake shore resorts, beaches and islands, art and culture, nice back country unpaved cycling routes and above all its friendly people. All these guarantee your best experience. Besides the sample trips provided herein, most trips can be organized to your choice and life style preference, energy levels, your time constraints and most importantly your budget.

Most key destinations are based in the south which boasts the most visited and well stocked wildlife reserves of Liwonde and Majete, the most hiked 3002m high Mulanje mountain, Tea Estates, the old colonial Zomba city and its plateau, Lake Malawi National Park with its great shores and islands of Mumbo and Domwe, just to me mention a few.

We work with well experienced guides who are well spoken, friendly and always willing to go an extra mile. Besides the variety of great trips that we recommend and customize for you, Malawi is a safer place to walk, cycle and drive on one’s own without a guide in most cases too. Feel free to use our language section on our website and learn a word or two just to have fun with the locals.

The truth is that we live in your destination and know it better hence clients who book with us have the most up-to-date information at their disposal. We are not at the same time a “know-it-all” but very open minded to learn from our guests and their experiences, fellow competitors and local communities as we highly rate this for our growth as a company and individual beings.

Jonathan Tengani
Managing Founder

A priesthood drop-out and has a rich tourism background through his parents who growing up were in the business of selling art & crafts besides hosting guests from around the world. “Taking our guests for short walks in our small township and surrounding villages for cultural exchange visits was my passion when I was growing up” he explains. The tourism passion got rekindled and grew more while he was studying philosophy and theology in Rome during his priesthood formation. While in Rome, he travelled to other neighboring countries on familiarization tours during school holidays and also after dropping priesthood formation before returning home to venture into the industry without any regrets. He still enjoys his part time involvement as a language and cross culture consultant.
