To all kick starting their tours from Blantyre or are just visiting Blantyre city on a business trip this is a perfect hike to include on your bucket list. Situated just 9km from Blantyre CBD, the mountain and surrounding forest harbors the Michiru Nature Sanctuary. Hyenas, bushbucks, common duiker, porcupines, civet cats, genet, hyrax and Cape hare are the common wildlife on the sanctuary with over 200 species of birds. There is a picnic spot and about 6 trails of varying lengths including one to the peak with an altitude of 1470m that allows you to have superb views as far as Zomba Mountain/plateau to the east and the Shire Valley across the Kirk Range in the west.
